Action Event:

Fasting and Prayer to End Abortion

Day 8: Recap

We began this week of fasting & prayer on September 28, a day called “International Safe Abortion Day”. We know that a safe abortion is impossible for the baby as abortion is the only medical procedure that has a 100% fatality rate (without the intervention of abortion pill reversal). Abortion is also deadly for the spiritual, emotional, and physical wellbeing of millions of women and men, abortion workers, and family members. Only the Lord could create that timing.

Ephesians 6:12 (The Passion Translation) declares, “Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage.”

When we fast and pray, we wage war with authority by the blood of Jesus. Thank you for joining us in combat and let’s keep battling. We know that our Lord Jesus purchased the victory at the cross. He wins in the end.

Day 7: Fathers & Mothers

Our world has, in our proper quest to recognize that men and women are created differently by the Lord but equally, told fathers that they aren’t needed. Single women and single men are amazing parents on their own. But, when it is healthy and possible for a father to be involved with the pregnancy and their child, the mother is so much more likely to choose life in an unplanned pregnancy.

Compassion exists to equip and mentor moms AND dads after our medical services help clients to make a decision for life. Please join us in prayer for families to work to gain healthy, God-honoring relationships and engage with our education program so that they can become the best parents they can possibly be.

Acts 2:38-39 teach, “Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.’” Please pray that our client’s children will receive this promise through Jesus, taught by their parents, and become chain breakers and change their generation.

Day 6: Abortion Pill Reversal

We prayed about chemical abortions/the abortion pill on Day 2, but did you know that there is a 65% chance of reversing an in-progress chemical abortion if the reversal is started within the first 72 hours? What an amazing redemption!

Compassion is honored to partner with our Medical Director to aid our community with APR. Our doctor prescribes the needed reversal medications and monitors the continuing pregnancy while Compassion provides the required ultrasounds under our doctor’s orders to confirm that the baby continues to be viable, growing and progressing as expected.

This incredible provision, a last chance to choose life, needs prayer coverage for protection and to be made known. Join us in praying John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”, over this lifesaving treatment.

Join us as well in praying for those medical professionals who have taken a stand for life, some becoming a member of AAPLOG.

Day 5: Courts & Lawmakers

Abortion is a moral issue long before it is a legal issue. Yet national and state-level elected and appointed officials need prayer for making life-honoring laws and decisions. Laws that are created either provide protection for the unborn or they nod assent to removing protections, giving a false impression of being moral.

The US Supreme Court has a vacancy. The person appointed and affirmed to that court will be key in the direction our nation takes on the topic of abortion. Join me in praying for wisdom for that decision, for the confirmation hearings, and that Job 12:23-25 (“He makes nations great, and destroys them; he enlarges nations, and disperses them.”) would find God’s mercy and healing upon our nation rather than our destruction.

Here’s an article describing the importance of courts and lawmakers and pregnancy centers such as Compassion. It was written just before NIFLA v. Becerra was decided, a landmark decision.

Lord, heal our land and raise up people who love You and respect life. Forgive us for the deaths of over 62 million unborn babies since 1973. Give us Your wisdom and mercy. Raise up leaders who know Your word and lead in ways that support life.

Day 4: Deliverance for Abortionists

I’ll be transparent, this is one of the most powerful prayer points we can address this week but it’s also one of the toughest. It’s much easier to be angry and outraged at those who took a Hippocratic oath to “first do no harm”. But, our prayer for those who work in the abortion industry is critical. It can be the difference in their developing ears to hear God, seeing the unborn as humans to be protected rather than killed, and deliverance from a life that is often filled with all kinds of false coping mechanisms to deaden their pain.

John 8:31-34 says, “So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, ‘If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’ They answered him, ‘We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, “You will become free”?’ Jesus answered them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.’”

Join together in praying that freedom, through repentance and redemption in Jesus, would come to every single person who works in abortion or supports that practice. Lord, set the captives free! Help them to see the truth and never again use skills that you’ve given for evil, but turn them to good.

Day 3: Healing

Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”  Notice that this verse doesn’t say that all things are good, but that God works them for good. He’s our Redeemer, our Sanctifier! Join me in prayer today for healing for those who have already experienced the wound of abortion, women and men. Lord, we know that you can turn that hurt into compassion, that wound into action to reach others before a decision to abort is made. We trust You in this.

If you, or someone you know, needs healing from a past abortion – whether you experienced it yourself, or you enabled or encouraged someone else to abort – Compassion can help. Our Post-Abortion Recovery program will show you how to find peace. Text our client texting line at 313-583-9770 to get started. In the meantime, pray and know this may be your divine appointment.

Day 2: Chemical Abortion (Abortion Pill)

Today’s focus is on the abortion pill, often called “RU-486”. This series of pills, derived of two chemicals, is used in pregnant woman to starve the developing baby of substances needed to continue to grow that are produced by the woman’s body. The second chemical then causes her body to expel the baby’s body.

This method of abortion is sadly growing in use, increasing by 9% per year in the states reporting abortion statistics. Only 38 of our 50 states report abortion data to the CDC, with many of our largest states with the most permissive abortion laws electing to withhold their data.

This dangerous combination of chemicals carries a REMS, commonly called a Black Box Warning, reserved for those things that carry a significant risk of adverse effect as determined by the FDA. Those who wish to further this agenda of death want that REMS, currently suspended because of COVID-19, to be permanently removed. Please pray that this dangerous drug is banned from use and for wisdom for lawmakers and women considering its use, asking God to provide protection for those who are already using it’s deadly effects. Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous runs into it, and is safe.”

Sadly, abortion pill proponents have taken their deadly agenda to the impoverished African nation of Burkina Faso, testing even later gestational age uses. Join me in prayer for protection of these women.

Day 1: Truth

Today’s prayer focus is on truth. John 17:17 reads “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” God’s precious word tells us that God alone creates life and that all of our days are known to Him before one of them came to be. It is a hard but important truth that He knows even those lives that will never be lived outside of their Mom’s body because of their choice to abort or being forced to abort. Yet, I can imagine God delighting in the growing and developing baby, in hearing the first beat of baby’s heart, and watching that body being knit together.

Join together in praying that the truth of God’s holiness, creative authority, and forgiveness of sin in His truth and grace, poured out at the cross, would be revered and made known. Pray that those considering abortion would hear and receive truth and that truth would bring repentance and healing to those who stand against life.
